The differences between the Ego and your True Nature

As you move through various stages of your growth and evolvement, you will find there's always more stages you need to move through because your inner work is never truly done!

I know that sounds ominous and unappealing but remember, your purpose for being here is YOU, you are your life's work and you are most certainly worth a lifelong commitment to your own evolvement and growth.

I can also promise you that, as you grow and evolve, you'll be in a greater state of clarity and objectivity.

You'll develop the ability to pause and centre yourself before reacting to stressful situations, having greater understanding of your own wellbeing with emotional triggers having lost their power.

Challenging circumstances will pass easier, at greater speed and you'll feel lighter.

The list of what changes is long and it can be uncomfortable at times but perhaps one of the easiest ways I can illustrate the differences between how your Ego feels compared to your True nature is to provide a comparative list.

The column on the left lists what the Ego produces, the column on the right is what soul or true self is;

Ego

True Self / Soul

Separateness

Oneness

Judgment

Compassion

Complaining

Gratitude

Envy

Kindness and generosity

Anger

Happiness

Resentment

Forgiveness

Guarded or closed off

Open and sure of yourself

Fear

Completely safe

Constant busyness

Stillness

The is by no means not an exhaustive list but I hope you get the idea.

And if any of these, rub you the wrong way or perhaps you 'scoff' at them being real, then that is your ego and it's a sign you have something that needs to be let go.

Can a prayer really change it all?

I heard this prayer as a line from a character in a movie I was watching. He said it during an extremely testing time in his life and it sparked a train of thought for me. The context in which he used
